Canadians told to be “proud”, paid $850,000 to celebrate our share in reducing Libya, which pre-bombing by NATO had ” the highest living standard in Africa.” and which as a result is a failed state, unable to form a lasting government and experiencing constant internal warfare.
The secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security stated in Ottawa “we continue to face real terrorist enemies and real terrorist threats.” from ““a stateless group of depraved criminals rapists, kidnappers, killers and terrorists who control a territory,” he said. “There is no religion, including Islam and there is no God, including Allah, that would condone ISIL’s violent tactics.”
Prime Minister Harper is telling us now it is both “noble …and necessary” that our aircraft , purchased for defence, be committed to war against these “terrorists” in the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS) some of whom were our allies in Libya.
Canada’s involvement in yet another foreign war is no more necessary to our country’s defence that was bombing Serbia, Iraq and Libya. Nor a “noble” action of which to be “proud” and celebrate, any more than that which devastated Libya.
