Dear Friends and Associates of Paul LeBaron,

It is with deep sorrow and a sense of abiding bliss that I send out this message regarding the passing over of our dear friend and mentor Paul LeBaron. We all knew Paul as an inspiration and a soul given to us as a guiding light and a model for emulation. I, like many, feel extremely blessed to have known Paul and to have benefited from his wisdom and guidance. God speed his “Chariot of Fire” to golden realms of eternal love and divine awareness and happiness!

This is the story of the events leading up to the death of Paul LeBaron, my dad.

About ten years ago, Dad walked into his house and gleefully announced to Mother and others of us who were present that he had just completed his “burn box” in which he intended to be cremated when he died. He informed us that the box was standing on its end down in the carport and that we were all welcome to go and inspect it. Dad always loved the grand gesture and the effects it had on others, especially Mother, as his version of such were often if not always calculated to create a reaction. As usual, he was wildly successful. My mom was scandalized beyond words; utterly speechless at first and outraged that he would so cavalierly sport about with a subject as “awful” as death, particularly his own demise. The box remained standing where he put it at the north end of his carport up against the basement wall waiting until it was to be needed. On the bottom of the box, Dad had inscribed the legend “Paul’s Chariot of Fire.”
